Poll: Safe food left-overs still a problem?

Just to confirm what I think is probably obvious (though it wasn't obvious to me until very recently).

Even a safe food like cauliflower or butternut squash can become unsafe from a histamine perspective as a left over.

My big dilemma for today: I cooked rice noodles and coconut oil for lunch in hopes of having a very simple, neutral meal.

However, I forgot that it was in my back pack so it's been at room temperature for 3 hours.

Should I eat it or roll the dice and go out for lunch?

On one hand, it probably doesn't have much protein.

On the other hand, even foods with virtually no protein such as sauerkraut can be very high in histamine.   Hmm.

Thoughts?

Thanks,
Mike

Three hours would be fine. In a pinch I'll eat stuff that's been there overnight. I don't do it unless I have to, and to be honest, I have no problem going 10 hours+ without food, but sometimes you're in the middle of nowhere in masai warrior territory and all there is was last night's kill....it's all about perspective. If you give your body a fighting chance through a nutritionally excellent diet, then you can fudge it here or there. Sticking to unprocessed foods is a huge step forward. Till that's mostly sorted I wouldn't stress too much about foods that are less than 24 hours from cooking.
