FOR SICKOFHISTAMINE

Hi there,

Re DAO testing in labs - I was advised that anonymous tests sent to various labs revealed that most labs are yeilding wildly innacurate results. By next week I will be sent a list of the only labs that were found to be accurate.

Re antihistamines - I found them to be useful when I was incapable of sticking to a low histamine diet. I took pretty much all that are on the market before settling on Zyrtec. I now realise that they were making me very dizzy and potentially increasing my symtoms in the short term. They were also making me obsessive about food. I was fantasizing about it every single minute of the day and it made sticking to the diet very difficult. I feel that my histamine is more balanced nowadays without them. I had a horrible horibble low his

Be amazing if you could post some of the questions here so that others could benefit from the answers :)

Thank you so much for the information.  I will post here, absolutely.

I sure am looking forward to hearing about which labs are the ones to use.

I can atest to the fact that you gain weight, and think of nothing but food while on Zyrtec.  My sister has recently started taking one Zyrtec a day for seasonal allergies.  She said she has absotuly gained weight.  Then I asked her if she was thinking about nothing but food and she said, well now that you ask about it, yes.  She been eating like crazy.

Thanks for letting us know! It's crazy - so many people take them and wind up chasing their tails because their food intake increases. Dirk spent over two years trying to convince me to come off them. He was so right!

After only a couple of days (at the most) of the Zyrtec, my sister said she's back to a normal appetite and isn't thinking non stop about what there is next to eat.  She'd have lunch, then something else caught her eye not 1/2 hour after lunch and whilst eating that and a little snack afterwards, would think about what she's going to make for dinner.

Hi,
I know, I'm probably driving you insane but any word on testing?  I think I need to get back on the Histame but want to test properly, first.  Anything at all?
Thanks so much.

Hi, I'm sorry. Haven't heard a peep. I've scheduled myself an appointment with a mastocytosis expert to get tested next week.

I would just go to see someone rather than getting tested over the internet. I figure that should be fine. At the end of the day, measuring a starting point and then seeing your progress will still show you what you need to know.
