Poll: Cooking milk for 25 minutes a problem?

I'm trying a new breakfast: cream of rice/quinoa

I cook 1.5 cups milk, 1/4 cup quinoa/rice, 1.5oz of coconut oil for 25 minutes.

Does the act of cooking milk for 25 minutes create histamines?

Would I be better off with an "instant" oatmeal from an envelope which cooks is 3 minutes?

(I'm trying really hard to just eat real food and do less processed stuff.)

Thanks for any thoughts,

Mike

Hi Mike, I wouldn't worry about it. If you're considering things like McDs as potential food sources, I would just work on trying to get more high nutrient, unprocessed foods into your diet.

I would not do oatmeal from a packet. You might want to also try GF if you're not already - most of us respond well to it.

Glad to hear you're trying to go less processed. It seems daunting at first but it really just requires a routine.

Soups are great on the go. There's a cauliflower tahini soup recipe on the site. I sometimes make soup in batches and freeze for a day or two and thaw in small quantities for work.
